Big Corporations Aren’t Worried About Workers’ Voice
I have a friend that works for Wal-Mart and when she tells me how they treat her, I get so mad that I wish there was something I could do. Like so many people whose stories I have read here, my friend works for Wal-Mart because there is nothing much to choose from in her small town. | Read More

Wal-Mart “Using Hard Times Against American Workers”
I do not work directly for Wal-Mart; I work for a company who supplies goods for them, an American factory. | Read More

Who is living better?
"Wal-Mart is a greedy, cheap, and shameful corporation that exploits its employees. I worked there as a temporary employee during 2008. Most of the employees are receiving government assistance (food stamps, etc). They are on public assistance because it is difficult to live on Wal-Mart’s low wages. WAL-MART. SAVE MONEY. LIVE BETTER. Who is living better?" | Read More

Management Doesn’t Get It
"My father fell very ill in Fall 2007. He was hospitalized and eventually transferred to the university hospital in Denver. My mother does not work and for the most part, stayed down there and kept me updated. I drove down there nearly every evening after work in order to visit him. Sometimes she would call me in the morning before work and say, "I think this is it, you need to come down here." And I would, because my father was the most important person in my life." | Read More

SHOCKING…..Wal-Mart’s Open Door Fails Again
"I have been writing in with everything that has gone on and what is still going on at the Woodstock Wal-Mart. We were the associates who wrote a letter, which most of the supervisors signed, and sent it to the higher ups. Five of us were fired and they didn't even hide the fact that they went right down the line of names. It was pure retaliation for using the elusive open door policy." | Read More

I have never been treated as badly in a job as I was at Wal-Mart
"I worked in the Deli. I was told several times in orientation that I would get a 90 cent raise in 90 days if I had at least a satisfactory review. When that time rolled around, I was told that the policy had changed. Every co-manager I spoke to told me the policy had changed a month after I began working. None of them addressed the fact that it was the policy when I started the job...but somehow I still didn't qualify now." | Read More

A lot of people are getting sick and tired of fearing for their jobs…
I work for a distribution center in Ohio. I have been employed for five years. When I first started this was a decent job. Over the years, it has gotten really bad. It’s to the point where I am now afraid to go into work for fear of being fired. During the economic downturn, Wal-Mart is looking for any petty reason to fire employees so they do not have to pay unemployment. | Read More

Young Man Worked To The Point Of A Heart Attack

‘Too Many Chiefs And Not Enough Indians’ At Wal-Mart
I was not an employee of Wal-Mart. My husband was a pharmacist for Wal-Mart who got sick 5 years ago and was told he needed a liver transplant. He had bladder cancer, heart problems, and diabetes. Basically, you name it he had it. He took a leave of absence in May 2007 and was on disability. His District Manager demanded we put a return date on the LOA form or he could not accept it. | Read More

Wal-Mart needs to treat its employees like humans again
"I have worked for Wal-Mart almost 3 years and I’m sorry to say, it has only gotten worse. Impossible time lines to get things done and being asked to stay longer without overtime are two examples of how Wal-Mart is going downhill. Some of us are worked too hard and they get on our case if we do not lift heavy objects fast enough." | Read More

You can’t use the open door policy in our store because of retaliation

Wal-Mart preparing for possible unionization
"Am I the only one who has noticed the timing of Lee Scott's retirement - less than two weeks after the inauguration of President Barack Obama? I work at Wal-Mart and hear things from time to time that concern me, as in, I am, as another associate put it, "too young to retire and too old to rehire." Wal-Mart has been hedging its bets for some time now regarding the possibility of its associates' unionizing..." | Read More

Toxic Atmosphere At One Store
We have an ongoing situation at store___. Ok, this is but one of many ongoing issues but this one is affecting everyone the most. A few weeks ago, all of the department and assistant managers (co- managers) got together and complained to the home office about the bad treatment they were receiving from the store manager, _____. Written Up Unfairly For “Altered Checks”
I worked for 3 1/2 years at customer service. I was frequently told to cash checks from CSS and management; they never initialed on them most of the time. I would still get written up for having “altered checks”. You could argue the policy all you want, but you would get yelled at by CSS or management. | Read More
