I don’t like working at Wal-Mart, but it was my only choice
I do not even know where to start! I worked at a Wal-Mart in Bellefontaine, OH from Oct. 2006 to May 2008. I quit because it was hard to work and work and work and get nothing for it, but I needed a job and Wal-Mart was the only one hiring in our area at the time. | Read More

Wal-Mart’s number one priority…..MONEY
I am a current Wal-Mart employee and I see how this company operates every day. It is all about money and seeing how much they can push one person to do multiple jobs. They never have enough employees. They hire new people and give them 40 hours a week. Meanwhile, they cut the hours of veteran employees. They do this to make the new employees think they will always get somewhere around 40 hours. | Read More

‘Too Many Chiefs And Not Enough Indians’ At Wal-Mart
I was not an employee of Wal-Mart. My husband was a pharmacist for Wal-Mart who got sick 5 years ago and was told he needed a liver transplant. He had bladder cancer, heart problems, and diabetes. Basically, you name it he had it. He took a leave of absence in May 2007 and was on disability. His District Manager demanded we put a return date on the LOA form or he could not accept it. | Read More

You can’t use the open door policy in our store because of retaliation

Scheduling changes rattle single mom
"I am currently working for Wal-Mart. I am a single mother and for the past 3 years, I have worked a regular schedule. There are two other single mothers in my department that had set schedules. This week, our store manager informed us that we now have to open our schedule and work “whatever the computer generates...” | Read More

Wal-Mart manager, “We will probably loose a lot of good people because of this.”
"I have been an employee for about seven months. I chose Wal-Mart as a second job because they had flexible hours and the store is located close to where I live. I have a full-time job during the day and started working at Wal-Mart from 5:00pm to 11:00 pm, five evenings a week. After my 90 days, I received a good review and things were fine. I am working in HBA. Except for the fact that I have to work two jobs, I have been fine with them until the last schedule came out..." | Read More

My store is using scare tactics to discourage us from speaking out…
"If you are close enough with management, they pull some strings for their buds. ICS was eliminated, making anyone who was on ICS part-time workers...sometimes working only 17 hours a week! Some people are put into secondary positions to get 30 hours, meaning they have two jobs at Wal-Mart, but get paid the rate of one (most likely the cheaper one)..." | Read More

We went from as much as 39.5 hours down to l0 hours a week!
"Just like clockwork, each june through august, our hours would be cut drastically. I mean we are all basically considered "part time" at the Sam’s club I worked for. We went from as much as 39.5 hours down to l0 hours a week! Full-time tenured associates, such as the meat cutters, were cut to 25 hours a week..." | Read More

“wal-mart” With A Small “w”; They Don’t Deserve A Big One

Breaking my back just to make ends meet.
I was hired as a part time door greeter in 2007.That was fine because I am disabled. In early 2008, my husband was laid off at his decent paying job and got on at Wal-Mart part time. Because of his age and the hours and pay from Wal Mart, he had to take early Social Security. Before, he was getting at least 24 hours, but since October Wal-Mart has constantly cut his hours. This week he got 11 hours. It is hardly worth his time for that, but we need it to pay bills. | Read More
