“I quit Wal-Mart in March of 2008, after four and a half years. When I was hired, they started me at $6.25 an hour, knowing I had 14 years of experience. I was promoted to department lead (same thing as dept. manager but less pay) of the Meat Department. I received a raise from $7.05 an hour to $7.55 an hour. We only got a 40 cent raise a year, unless you were a favorite. Then I got demoted for telling a worker in my department to go on home if he wasn’t going to do anything. By the way, he made more on the hour then I did and I was his boss so-to-speak. They moved me to another area with a 50 cent pay cut. Two months later, they asked me to go back to the Meat Department. I did, and they were generous enough to give me a 40 cent raise how about that?”
