Anonymous on Pushing out Full-Timers
“They are cutting hours at our store and are also forcing people to take other shifts, even if they cannot work. My set hours for Wal-Mart are 5 in the morning, until 2 in the after noon. They told me and a lot of the other workers who had that shift, that we had to change our hours. They said that there never was a 5 to 2 shift; that is such crap. I have worked the same shift for over 6 years, and I know another associate who has had that same shift for 15 years, and they did the same thing to her.
“They have not yet made me sign anything and I will not sign any such paper, I’ll quit first. They are making a lot of the other workers sign this paper to change the hours that that they can work. One of our workers is going to be 80 in August, he is a good worker and was working part time; coming in the morning and working his 6 hours. They told him he had to work from 11 in the morning, until 5 in the afternoon. That is crap, they are trying to cut full-time workers. This makes me so mad, i used to like to go to work at Wal-Mart but not anymore. I used to have a smile on my face; not anymore. I have a frown and they cannot make me smile. Thanks for letting me vent.”
