“I was terminated on April 14th of this year for chasing a shoplifter. The Market Asset Protection Manager said “i pursued the suspect too far.’ There was a male hourly associate with me, the asset protection associate, and he was never coached for this. Also, at other stores around the market the same situation has happened and their was nothing done about it. I was a hard working assistant manager and was doing my job. I do believe I was descriminated against. I need help with what to do about this situation. I have talked to a lawyer in Lexington, KY (I live in Richmond, Kentucky) but he said he would charge me $300 per hour and I can not afford that. I know what they have done is wrong and I even used the “open door policy” and talked to upper management about getting my position back and they all turned me down. My question is, how is it that I was terminated for it and other managers get away with it. Thanks!!!”
