‘If Sam Walton Were Here Today… He Would Probably Shut The Doors Forever’

Five years ago, I had open heart surgery and have a pacemaker. That does not make any difference with Wal-Mart and the job and jobs that I have to do nightly.  They stack the pallets of freight higher than I can reach and always put the heaviest freight on the top. They give more and more work to get done, and in less and less time. If you end up not getting all your work done within the allotted time, they have you work until you get it done, then before the pay week is over they insist that you take it off by taking a longer lunch. They give you sick days on the check, but you never get to use them, unless you are hospitalized. Their insurance is an arm and a leg in cost, but does not cover anything, unless you go to their doctors. Well, I am sorry, but they don’t have any cardiologists, so therefore I pay for the insurance, but still only get 60% coverage. I honestly know that the way that the managers and all treat the associates is a crime of the worst kind. I was raised on the concept that if you took care of your job, the job would take care of you… this is a far cry from the truth at Wal-Mart. If Sam Walton were here today, to see the atrocities that take place in his store and dreams… He would probably shut the doors forever. The day I started at Wal-Mart, I was given minimum wage, while the male employee, hired on the same day to do the same job, was given a dollar more. There is a difference in the pay scale for males and females. I could write a book on the horrible way that my store treats its associates, but I will save it for another time. I sure hope something changes, before they kill us all….
