Manager’s Pay For Covering A Manager’s Vacation?
I have read some of the stories and the same things are happening in our store also. The hours changing and management CLAIMING that the computer makes the schedule. You are told that you WILL open your availability or the computer will not give you any hours. Also being told that “IF” you stay and work a 12 hour shift you will be able to keep your hours, of course when you live pay check to paycheck you take this as an opportunity so you stay and work to help your fellow associates and to make the extra money…but don’t you believe it, I already know the trick. You stay and bust your butt and then at the end of the week you are told to GO HOME because payroll is too HIGH! And MY question is this. How can you stick everyone into a slot and say this is how much you are getting paid to do this job, but I also need you to cover vacations for your department manager while she’s on leave, Oh but you won’t get the pay that she gets. How does Wal-Mart determine what your job should be worth when “THEY” have never come out from behind the desk and actually done the job? You are stuck into a slot and then told this is what your pay will be, but then you are also TOLD to do all these other jobs that are ABOVE your pay rate. Don’t do it people. Wal-Mart Family… HMMM That’s what they used to say when you first start with the company. The ONLY Family that Wal-Mart is worried about is the WALTON FAMILY. I really used to give my best and work my hardest because it made ME feel good. Now that I’ve seen how Wal-Mart treats their associates, I would never recommend to any of my friends or family to work there. When I see new people sitting and waiting for an interview I want to tell them to RUN!
