M.L. in Illinois on Wages

“When you have your evaluation each year, you get a very small raise. Then they cut your hours back so that you don’t make anymore take home than you did before. Right after I got my yearly evaluation earlier this year, they cut my hours back to 35 hours a week from 40. So you see, I am not making any more than I did a year ago. That’s how they are doing at this store. And they warn us if we put in any hours over 40 hours that they will coach us and possibly fire us. We are not aloud to even go one minute over - not one - and if we do we are in great trouble. That’s how they have been doing for several years now. I have seen a lot of crap that is very, very illegal going on in this store but I don’t say anything because I could lose my job if I did.”
