Sent From One Manager to Another About Reduced Hours
When I asked to be given any other job but cashier I was told that there were no other jobs available. During this time my hands got worse and I was still doing the same job; I could not afford to quit because I am totally self supporting. While telling me that there was no other job available, other people (mostly new hires) were being transferred to other (easier) jobs. When I did insist on being treated by a workman’s comp doctor, I was sent home [by managers] after the doctor said I could not work a register. The regional office forced the store to find something for me to do. I was given the title of door greeter, but not allowed to do any of the door greeter tasks even though the doctor said I could do them. I was told to do nothing except stand there and greet. I was also given the worst hours, then my hours were cut and I am currently being treated like a leper by my supervisor. This week I was given no hours and next week I only have 22. When I tried to speak with one manager I was told to go to another manager, who said I needed to speak with the first. This went on for all of last week. I am now again trying to speak with the regional office; however, I will still be out one week’s pay and unable to meet my rent I have told this to management and said that I have no place to stay; if I lose my apartment, I will be living in my car.
