Should We Be Grateful We Work At Wal-Mart?

Then I transferred. Now I see the terrible stores! Most seem to be the Division One stores (non-Supercenters). Especially now with the recession, they claim they need to hack hours because of poor sales, but Wal-Mart hasn’t been hurt too bad. Managers are flat out saying “be grateful you work here; if you are not, we WILL replace you.” We used to work until 6:30 A.M. but now they are forcing us to take an hour lunch and stay till 7. Lots of people on my crew work second jobs at 7; they were hired to work till 6:30. They took the night job especially so they could balance the two. Wal-Mart says either your other job adjusts, or you need to quit. What kind of employee respect is that? “We hope your other job will accommodate to OUR needs so you can keep your home.” That makes me so mad. Wal-Mart would rather see its associates on the streets to save a few bucks than live up to its “beliefs.” Poor Sam, I know he wouldn’t have stood for any of this crap. They are firing people left and right for the littlest reasons. I’m looking for something else (perhaps with a union) before I get fired. Just everyone stop shopping at Wal-Mart. Yes that means less money to the associates, but Wal-Mart is an evil that needs to be stopped.
