Toxic Atmosphere At One Store

As a result, the home office made ____take a two week vacation, supposedly unpaid. The retaliation has been relentless and it is the associates who are bearing the brunt of the abuse. The staff has been reduced to a third of what it was prior to the holidays, all of the managers were reassigned to different departments and shifts, and the managers are taking it out on the employees. Breaks and lunches are withheld, duties change from day to day with constant threats of termination if tasks are not completed, associates are subjected to constant criticisms and disrespect by all of the managers, and the atmosphere is toxic. I was personally told last night that I am not allowed to use the bathroom on company time and that I need to do things like that on my own dime and not Walmart’s. Seems like a small thing, I know, but it’s just the latest in a series of nasty comments I have heard personally. The day before, ____ had a meeting with the managers where he was berating the crew on the second shift, calling them losers and worthless slackers. This was said in front of one of the second shift employees and ____ did not realize who the employee was. Why? Because he has never been in the receiving area during second shift nor has he ever bothered to speak to anyone from that department. The employees on second shift spoke up in response to this grossly unfair assessment and naturally, they are paying for it with fewer hours, newly imposed time limits on duties, and nonstop harassment from managers. It is now an internal war among the employees and it is being condoned, and instigated, by ____ in retaliation for his being penalized by the home office.
