Wal-Mart Continues To Cut Hours
But, with the pay she makes, she is unable to afford medical insurance and to pay for every deductible. She only works part time and is not allowed to work full time. Another thing is when you do not have open availability they really cut your hours way back to where it is not worth it to work at Wal-Mart. At the front end there is the constant pushing of Customer Service Managers to keep lines down. But with the small amount of cashiers available for the volume that most Supercenters receive, it is nearly impossible to keep the lines down. The schedules run soooooo tight…it is impossible to keep lines short. The constantly cut hours saying the economy is not supporting the hours, yet everyday there is in each department a percentage gain for the monthly sales.
Now if Wal-Mart has gains in each department from sales but cuts cashiers and Customer Service Managers hours…it is the customer who suffers. Yet they constantly cut hours from cashiers and Customer Service Managers. When an associate asks for additional hours just to make ends meets, they are given the go around and told to speak with so and so. Or they associate needs to wait another week for business to pick up. Business in the news with Wal-Mart is excellent and constantly gaining sales in almost every department. Now if these sales are up HOW COME THE HOURS RE NOT AVAILABLE TO THESE ASSOCIATES STRUGGLING FOR HOURS??? Wal-Mart constantly cuts hours, only hires part-time work and expects to use workers to full capacity doing the work of two or three people combined into one person since hours have been cut.
