Wal-Mart ‘Lost’ A Report For Employee’s Health Benefits Claim

This fall was witnessed by 2 of my coworkers who went and got my manager and also a transportation manager. Neither of these 2 managers reported the accident. I also reported this fall to Blake Schowe the GTM for our facility 3 weeks after the fall since that was the first I had seen him to do so. Mr. Schowe wrote up the accident report in front of 2 other managers and I demanded a copy of this report for my records. Mr. Schowe did not want to give me a copy but afterward he called Carrie Hallett Paris who is the head of Human Resources at the Wal-Mart corporate office in Bentonville, AR. She okayed the release of my copy to myself. I was dismissed from employment from Wal-Mart that same day. I had a surgery planned for 2 days from my release date form Wal-Mart. I had the surgery and so far Wal-Mart has not paid for any of my medical expenses, nor for any of my time off. I also tried to get Wal-Mart to pay by calling Jeff Lough who is the Regional Transportation Manger, Jeff Harris, Transportation Manger, and others located in Bentonville. One other note: now Wal-Mart is denying my claim due to the fact they have no written report. Luckily I still have a copy of the original report written on May 19, 08. I have retained a lawyer to help try to recoup my lost wages and also all the medical expenses I have since incurred due to my fall.
