“Why do you work overtime when you know that they will not pay you?”
I said, “Why do you work overtime when you know that they will not pay you?” Our store is notorious for promises of overtime that are never kept. He said “Oh no, they’ve got to punch me out, they’ll pay me.” Well payday came and on this Saturday, I asked him if he was paid for that very exhausting day. “No,” he said, “they sent me home!” I said, “I told you . . .” He said, “I’m only hear until I finish school anyway,” shrugged and walked off. What are we allowing Wal-Mart to do to us? I know of only a few persons who have the nerve to stand up and speak the words that need saying. Don’t be afraid! United we can make them do what they should, devided we are no more than a ripple in a mighty corporate ocean.
